How long will it take to handle my claim?

It depends on how complex the claim is, how serious the damages or injuries are, and how willing other involved parties are to cooperate. Better Insurance claims are handled by Toggle®, a member of the Farmers Insurance® family and the underwriter of Better Insurance home policies. Toggle claims representatives will always work towards prompt resolution of every claim. If a claim requires follow-up work, they'll be there with you every step of the way. And, if your claim has been closed and additional damage or injuries are identified later, they'll reopen the claim and determine if your policy provides coverage for the additional expense.

How can I file a claim? How do claims work?

If you have coverage with Better Insurance, log into your online account and go to the Claims page to submit a claims form for review. If you do not have coverage with Better Insurance, but are making a claim against someone who is, you can notify us by visiting our website (get-betterinsurance.com) and clicking on 'Claims' at the top of the page. Better Insurance is underwritten by Toggle Insurance Company, a member of the Farmers Insurance® family, and Toggle® handles all Better Insurance claims. When you file a claim, a Toggle claims adjuster will reach out to you either by phone, email, or chat (whichever you prefer). They will likely ask for more details about the loss to help them process the claim. Note: all claims are subject to the policy limits you selected, your policy deductible when applicable, and other terms and conditions.

How do I know if my claim will be covered?

Toggle is a fully digital company - therefore, they aim to pay for claims electronically whenever possible. When electronic claims payment is not possible, a paper check will be mailed to your policy address.
